Last month Oxford Dictionaries announced the 2015 Word of the Year and for the first time ever the winner is a Pictograph. The emoji, commonly known as ‘face with tears of joy’ was crowned as the victor and beat other popular terms of 2015 such as Brexit, refugee and ad blocker. For the full list of contenders plus the how and why ‘face with tears of joy’ was chosen, visit the Oxford Dictionaries blog.

At long last, it’s summer time again! It’s time to put your flip-flops on, smother yourself in sun cream, grab yourself an ice cream and head for the beach. Congratulations to everyone who has made it through the year. Now’s the time to relax and take a hard-earned break before planning and preparing for the next school year!
